What are HTML widgets and Desktop Widgets?
HTML is a form of language for describing the structure of a web page. An HTML widget is a form for generating a set of HTML (and CSS references) for building a web page. In Google's case, some of the widgets are used to describe sections of a page (e.g., the header, the footer, the blog section of a blogger page, the "archive" section of a blog page, the "about me" part of a blog page, and so on, so that your CSS can set up unique characteristics for them.The HTML widgets, in Google's case, are covered in their help files, and are actually pretty simple-minded if you read them over and over again. Desktop-widgets, I haven't read about writing them...
