I have two widgets that move to the right and lower (of course I like them in the lower right of my screen to start with) when I raise or lower (open/close OR minimize/maximize) other applications. But not every time, just most times. I also have several that don't move unless I move them - the way it should be.
If it matters, this is with the latest widget engine from Yahoo (4.01 ) on XP home. I've never had a previous version of widgets installed. The machine is virus and spyware free.
For what it's worth, I couldn't find diddly about anything remotely similar to this on the Yahoo help site.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Why do my widgets move on their own?
There is a bug in the current version of Y!Widgets. It has to do with the widget author using a %26lt;shadow%26gt; tag. This same issue, and many other shadow-related issues, have been discussed in the Konfabulator/Y!Widgets forums. This particular bug seems to occur even with the "prevent dragging" option turned on.
It should be fixed in the next release (due out soon).
Reply:To keep the widgets in place, right click on the widget and click preferences. then on the windows tab, select the check box that says "prevent dragging"
