How can I customise the yahoo widgets dock to stretch up to the height of the screen and not allow windows to use that portion of the screen. I've tried the SidePanel widget but it only sticks an image on the screen - no docking or reserving space. Please help!

Well first put the dock how you want it. Next go to the far left side of the windows screen and when you are far enough you will see two arrows. They will be connected and on will be pointing to the left and one to the right. Click it and drag it to the right until there will be enough room for your widgets dock.
